In the early hours of April 17, 2022, on the near southeast side of Indianapolis, a report of shots fired brought officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to the 2700 block of South State Avenue. Upon their arrival just before 1:30 a.m., they discovered evidence of a shooting but found no victim at the scene.

Later, a man arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds. This man was identified as 24-year-old Jujuan Finch Jr. He was admitted in critical condition, and ...
