Rodney Ward Jr., a 16-year-old male and Black/African American, was shot on the evening of July 11, 2025, on Indianapolis’s far east side. Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched at approximately 6:09 p.m. to a BP gas station in the 2900–3000 block of North Mitthoefer Road, where they found 16-year-old Rodney Ward Jr. critically wounded in the parking lot.
