On August 19, 2018, Trancito Montenegro, a 35-year-old resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, was found dead in his car on the far east side of the city. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a call around 4:00 a.m. and discovered Montenegro had been fatally shot. The incident occurred in the 6000 block of Nimitz Drive, located just northeast of 21st and Arlington Avenue. The Marion County coroner later identified the victim as Trancito Montenegro.
