On the early morning of Sunday, August 19, 2018, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to a residential neighborhood on the city’s east side following a report of a person shot. Just before 4:15 a.m., first responders arrived at the 6100 block of Nimitz Drive, located northeast of the intersection of 21st Street and Arlington Avenue. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a male victim inside a vehicle who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
