On September 15, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on the northeast side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Takeysha Lana Burks. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a death investigation in the 3800 block of Breen Drive, near East 38th Street and North Post Road, around 5:30 p.m..
