On the morning of July 26, 2018, authorities in Indianapolis, Indiana, were summoned to a residential area on the city's northeast side following the discovery of an unresponsive individual. Upon arriving at the 2800 block of Stuart Street, located near the intersection of 30th Street and North Sherman Drive, first responders found the body of 46-year-old Eric Lamont Averitte, a Black male, lying in the front yard of a home.
