J'Von J. Ellis, a 15-year-old from Indianapolis, was tragically killed on July 21, 2014. The incident took place around 8:20 p.m. near East 38th and Station streets, on the city's east side. Ellis was shot in a parking lot after he had walked out of a Walgreens store. He had been a student at Arsenal Technical High School and would have started his sophomore year that fall.
