On September 19, 2015, ten-year-old Deshawn Swanson was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in Indianapolis while attending a memorial service with his family. The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of Graceland Avenue in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood. Deshawn, also known as "Little Man," was standing near the front door when multiple gunshots were fired into the crowd.
