On May 1, 2024, Ryan Hawkins, a 35-year-old Deaf man from Indianapolis, was tragically shot and killed in a road rage incident while driving on Interstate 65. Hawkins, who was driving a Hyundai Elantra, was involved in an altercation that began possibly due to a "honking incident" or "brake-checking," as claimed by the alleged shooter.
