In the quiet evening of Friday, March 25, 2022, in Kenner, Louisiana, the life of 26-year-old Terrall Wynn McGee was tragically cut short. Just before 9 p.m., in the 700 block of Vouray Drive, gunshots shattered the night. When Kenner police officers arrived at the scene, they found McGee unresponsive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the location.
Witnesses to the harrowing event recounted that the shots that claimed McGee's life were fired from a
vehicle. In the chaotic moments that followed, multiple vehicles were seen speeding away from the area, leaving investigators with the task of piecing together the sequence of events and identifying those responsible. The investigation into the shooting began immediately, with law enforcement working to unravel the motive and bring the perpetrator to justice. It was noted that this was not the first time violence had found McGee; he had been shot in a previous incident in April of the prior year, a case in which an arrest had been made.
As the investigation progressed, the Kenner Police Department identified a person of interest they wished to question in connection with McGee's death: 27-year-old Tavares Harrell. The search for Harrell was a key focus for investigators in the early stages of the case. The persistence of the Kenner police paid off when, early in their investigation, they identified a 17-year-old male as a possible suspect in the murder. In July 2022, their efforts culminated in the arrest of the teenage suspect, who was taken into custody and accused of the shooting death of Terrall McGee.
