On February 28, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Kenner, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 3-year-old Carmelo McClinton, also known as "Melo".
The incident involved Carmelo's father, Melvin McClinton Sr., who had been struggling with the recent loss of his 18-year-old son, Melvin McClinton Jr., who was killed in a shooting on February 5, 2024. This earlier tragedy was Kenner’s first homicide of 2024.
