Lawrence "Peanut" Devan Herr, a 66-year-old maintenance man from Metairie, Louisiana, was fatally shot on April 10, 2023, while working in Kenner. He was installing a mailbox at a residence on Georgetown Drive when the incident occurred. Herr was found lying in the driveway by a lawn care worker who initially thought he might have had a heart attack, only to discover that he had been shot.
