A dispute that began inside a Kenner bar tragically escalated to violence in the early morning hours, claiming the life of Arnold Matute-Vasquez, a 22-year-old male. The altercation spilled out into the parking lot and ultimately led to a fatal drive-by shooting on February 16, 2019.
The incident unfolded after a fight at a local bar. Following the initial confrontation, Matute-Vasquez and the individual he fought with were both removed from the establishment.
Shortly after leaving the bar, a vehicle pursued the car in which Matute-Vasquez was a passenger. Multiple shots were fired into the vehicle, striking and killing him.
In the wake of the shooting, Kenner Police swiftly identified a suspect. An 18-year-old male was arrested in connection with the killing. During the investigation, the suspect reportedly confessed to his involvement in the murder. The investigation suggested the motive for the shooting was the earlier altercation at the bar.
