In the early hours of a summer morning in Indianapolis, the life of 22-year-old Joseph Bernard Simmons II was tragically cut short. On June 7, 2021, Simmons was found shot to death on Churchill Court, the son of a man who had served the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for 32 years.

The night of his death, Simmons was at a house party with a large crowd, with estimates of 50 to 100 people present. Just before 1 a.m., a disturbance broke out, and gunshots rang through the night ...
