A State Football champion is gunned down while chatting with friends
On a summer evening in Indianapolis, Indiana, the life of 20-year-old William Stryker Sircy was tragically cut short. On August 20, 2005, the young Caucasian man, a graduate of Ben Davis High School and a former member of their state champion football team, had arranged to meet with an individual to peacefully resolve an ongoing issue. Sircy, known for his love of writing lyrics and cruising in his Chevy Caprice with the Yung Vets 317 Car Club, was engaged to be married and had his whole life ahead of him.
That fateful day, Sircy and some friends went to the west side of Indianapolis to meet a man known by the street name 'Little Mike'. Sircy and 'Little Mike' walked away to have a private conversation. Some time later, Sircy's friends discovered him in a building, suffering from three gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was rushed to the hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries after surgery.
The investigation into William Sircy's murder has spanned many years, yet his case remains unsolved. The primary person of interest is the man Sircy went to meet, 'Little Mike.' Authorities have described him as a Black male who was approximately 18 years old in 2005, standing around 6'1' with a thin build and a light to medium complexion. It was also noted that he spoke with a southern accent and frequented the Pebble Point Apartments.
Despite the identification of a person of interest, no arrests have ever been made in connection with William Sircy's homicide. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's Unsolved Homicide Unit continues to seek information from the public that could lead to a breakthrough in the case. A reward has been offered for information that could bring justice to Sircy and his family, who have waited nearly two decades for answers.
