On August 14, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on the northeast side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 59-year-old Rickey Danner. The incident took place in the 4200 block of North Edmondson Avenue, a residential area off 42nd Street near Shadeland Avenue. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to the scene around 10:02 p.m. in response to a report of a person shot.
