In what appears to be a tragic case of mistaken identity, 25-year-old Addam Thomas Hart was shot and killed inside his Indianapolis home on March 28, 2024. The male victim had recently moved into the residence on Gable Drive with his family and had just gotten engaged to his fiancée on Valentine's Day.
On the night of the incident, Hart's mother, Rebecca Roush, was in bed watching television when she heard popping noises.
She called out to her son, and as he ran up the stairs, more shots were fired. Hart collapsed outside his mother's room with a gunshot wound to his head. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries. Investigators discovered more than 30 bullet holes in the house, indicating the intensity of the drive-by shooting.
The investigation revealed that the perpetrators had targeted the wrong house. They were reportedly seeking a former resident of the address who was accused of raping a friend of one of the suspects. This individual no longer lived at the Gable Drive home.
Authorities have since arrested three teenage suspects in connection with Hart's murder. Harmon Seura, 19, was the third person arrested in the case. The other two suspects are 17-year-old Tyler Gibson and 16-year-old Savannah Allen. According to court documents, both Gibson and Allen admitted to being present at the time of the shooting. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will determine the final charges for the three suspects.
