On March 12, 2019, 45-year-old Regas Ringo was fatally shot in Indianapolis, Indiana. Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 3400 block of North Edmondson Avenue just before 1:00 a.m. following a report of a person shot. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders located Ringo, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a local area hospital in critical condition.
Despite efforts by medical staff to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Preliminary findings indicated that the violence stemmed from a disturbance that had occurred inside the residence where the victim was found. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency assisted at the scene to collect forensic evidence, and the Marion County Coroner's Office later confirmed the identification of the victim.
Authorities identified 33-year-old Adari Williams as the primary suspect in connection with the homicide. Following the investigation, Williams was arrested and faced a preliminary charge of murder for her alleged role in Ringo's death.
