In the spring of 2021, a burst of gunfire on a Monday afternoon in Indianapolis shattered the lives of two families and left a community searching for answers. On April 19, 2021, 35-year-old Savage Trent Jones, a man known to his loved ones as 'Trent,' was fatally shot on the city's north side. Originally from Laurel, Mississippi, Jones had made Indianapolis his home since 1991. He was a father and a man with a passion for cooking, which he had hoped to turn into a career as a chef.
