In the early morning hours of June 29, 2025, the sound of gunfire echoed through the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood on the north side of Indianapolis. It wasn't until just before 8 a.m. that the grim reality of those sounds became clear. Responding to a death investigation in the 4300 block of Cornelius Avenue, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers discovered the bodies of two 19-year-old men. One of them was Jesse Alexander Quiroz, a Hispanic male.
Both he and his companion, Isaiah Joseph Wilson, had been fatally shot. Medics arrived at the scene, but it was too late; both young men were pronounced dead.
Neighbors later recounted hearing gunshots at approximately 2:30 a.m., followed by screaming, but the scene was quiet when they awoke to find crime scene tape cordoning off their street. Homicide detectives and the city's forensic services unit began the painstaking process of piecing together the events that led to the double homicide. Despite their efforts, authorities did not immediately have information about a possible suspect or a motive for the killings. Investigators with the IMPD Homicide Office have been seeking information from the public, urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward. As of now, no arrests have been announced in connection with the deaths of Jesse Alexander Quiroz and Isaiah Joseph Wilson.
Jesse, born on March 14, 2006, was a recent 2024 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, where he was known for his passion for baseball. His bond with Isaiah Wilson was described as unbreakable; they were best friends who were rarely seen apart and, tragically, were together in their final moments. In the wake of this violence, family and friends mourned the profound loss of a young man known for his warm smile and kind spirit, as they await answers in a case that remains unsolved.
