In the summer of 2019, the life of 42-year-old Michael Edward Copeland II was tragically cut short in Indianapolis. On the evening of Sunday, June 30, 2019, Copeland, a Black male, was fatally wounded in a shooting that occurred in the 1300 block of North Dearborn Street. The incident prompted an investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
