In an east Indianapolis neighborhood, a simmering dispute rooted in a drug debt tragically boiled over, leading to the death of 49-year-old Jerome Warren. A Black male, Warren was fatally shot on April 9, 2014, in the front yard of his home located in the 5600 block of East 20th Street. The violence that cut his life short left his five children without their father, a man his brother described as someone who was focused on providing for them and would readily help others.
