Elijah Charles Ellis, a 20-year-old male, had a bright future ahead of him, with dreams of moving to Florida for school and then heading to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. He had already taken a step toward that dream, having appeared in a Dr. Pepper commercial. Described by his family as the 'life of the party' and the 'glue that held his friends together,' he had his next five years meticulously planned out.
He had attended Pike High School, Shortridge High School, and had recently received his GED from Ivy Tech on June 8, 2021.
On the evening of July 29, 2021, Elijah left his home in Indianapolis, Indiana, to go to a nearby store. He never returned. Just before 10 p.m., he was shot at the intersection of West 47th Street and Georgetown Road on the northwest side of the city. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His sudden and violent death left his family heartbroken and searching for answers.
