On November 19, 2023, a shooting incident occurred on the northwest side of Indianapolis, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including 22-year-old David Lee Swanigan. The incident took place at the intersection of West 29th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, where Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers responded to reports of shots fired around 10:49 p.m..
