On the night of November 19, 2023, a violent shooting occurred on the near northwest side of Indianapolis, Indiana, claiming the lives of two young individuals. Among the victims was 22-year-old David Lee Swanigan, a Black male, who was seated in a vehicle near the intersection of West 29th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street. The incident unfolded just before 11:00 p.m. when gunfire erupted, targeting the car occupied by Swanigan and 25-year-old Rosalba G. Torres Arceo.
