On July 12, 2023, 19-year-old Elijah Martin was fatally shot at a north-side Indianapolis apartment complex located in the 3300 block of North Meridian Street. The incident occurred after Martin had arranged to meet two individuals to trade firearms and $540 in cash. According to the investigation, Martin named the person he believed had pulled the trigger as a man who used to date his sister.
