A sense of unease settled over a neighborhood on the east side of Indianapolis on the evening of July 18, 2021. Just before 9 p.m. on Marianne Avenue, near East 21st Street and Shadeland Avenue, gunfire erupted, tragically cutting short the life of Marshall Shute, a 34-year-old male. Responding to the scene, police discovered Shute suffering from gunshot wounds.
