On April 11, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred on the near northwest side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 16-year-old Keith Louis Ray. The incident took place shortly after 8 p.m. in the 400 block of West 25th Street, just east of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street. Responding officers found Ray lying on the street with gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
