In the early hours of May 3, 2022, a sense of loss befell a community in Indianapolis, Indiana, with the tragic death of 15-year-old Kabelo 'Kabe' Elijah Fobo Reidenbach. Born in Roma, Lesotho, on December 2, 2006, Kabelo was adopted and brought to the United States in September 2010, where he became a cherished son, brother, and friend. He was a student at Franklin Central High School and was known for his love of music and basketball.

Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Caroline Street on the city's near northeast side. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle containing three individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds. Kabelo and 25-year-old Marvin Walker Jr. were pronounced dead at the scene. The third victim, 31-year-old Anthony Morman, was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the triple homicide has been ongoing, yet years later, no arrests have been made. In an effort to generate new leads, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible for the deaths of Kabelo, Anthony Morman, and Marvin Walker Jr. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has stated that the investigation remains active, with detectives continuing to interview people in connection with the case. Law enforcement officials have urged anyone with information to come forward, expressing their belief that someone in the community has knowledge that could help solve the case.
The profound loss of Kabelo is deeply felt by his family, who remember him as a compassionate and empathetic young man. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Moms Demand Action, an organization dedicated to gun violence prevention.
