In the early hours of New Year's Day 2021, the city of Indianapolis recorded its first homicide of the year, the unfortunate victim being 62-year-old James Anderson Sr., a Black male. The incident unfolded at approximately 1:38 a.m. on the 9300 block of Norcross Court, where officers responded to a report of a person shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Anderson with gunshot wounds.
