On August 23, 2019, the Indianapolis community was shaken by the tragic deaths of 16-year-old Nicholas Nelson and his 15-year-old sister, Ashlynn Nelson. The siblings were found shot dead in their apartment on the northeast side of the city. Nicholas, a straight-A student with aspirations to attend Purdue University, and Ashlynn, who was known for her kindness and dedication to helping others, were both newly enrolled students at Lawrence North High School.
