In the fall of 2021, a grim discovery on the south side of Indianapolis brought an end to the search for a missing teenager and unraveled a story of a deadly betrayal. The body of 18-year-old Joseph Thomas, who had been reported missing on October 10, 2021, was found two days later in a grassy area in the 4400 block of South Meridian Street. He was not alone.
