On October 17, 2023, William Edward Hodges Jr., a 32-year-old resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, was fatally shot in a violent incident. The shooting occurred near the intersection of East 30th Street and North Mitthoefer Road, specifically in the 10000 block of East 30th Street, close to a Family Dollar store. The incident happened just before 4 p.m..
