On February 17, 2017, 58-year-old Christopher Landon Glass was the focus of a death investigation by the Boise Police Department following his disappearance. On that day, Glass was reportedly contacted by two bail bondsmen at a residence on South Loggers Pond Place in Boise. Following this interaction, he fled from the home towards the banks of the Boise River.
Initial search efforts for Glass by the Boise police and fire departments were unsuccessful in locating him.
However, the Boise Fire Department's dive team did discover a firearm in the water that was believed to have belonged to Glass. Investigators at the time found no evidence to suggest that foul play was involved in his disappearance. The case remained unresolved for several years, leaving his whereabouts unknown.
In late July 2023, the circumstances of Christopher Glass's disappearance came to a sorrowful conclusion. A member of the Ada County Sheriff's Office dive team discovered human remains in the Boise River during a training exercise near the Park Center Bridge. The remains were recovered from a depth of about 8 feet and were turned over to the Ada County Coroner's Office for identification. On August 2, 2023, the coroner's office confirmed that the remains belonged to Christopher Glass. The investigation concluded that his death was a suicide that occurred on the day he was last seen.
