On a summer morning in Indianapolis, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Panteley Nikolov, a 24-year-old male, was found shot to death on Saturday, June 26, 2021. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call for a death investigation in the 3200 block of North Capitol Avenue just after 8:30 a.m. and discovered Nikolov with apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene, but it was too late.
Nikolov was pronounced dead, turning a quiet neighborhood into the center of a homicide investigation. Detectives were called to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting, urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the IMPD Homicide Office or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana.
