In the early morning hours of April 24, 2022, the life of 36-year-old Irene Williams, a Black/African American female from Indianapolis, Indiana, was tragically cut short. Known for her kind and carefree nature that brought joy to those around her, Williams was a mother to a 7-month-old child.
Around 6:30 a.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call of two people shot in the 4000 block of Stratford Court.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Irene Williams and 41-year-old William Davis suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives with the IMPD immediately launched an investigation into the double homicide. Despite their efforts and heartfelt pleas from Williams's family for justice and closure, the case has grown cold. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing as the community and her family continue to seek answers in the untimely deaths of Irene Williams and William Davis. Her sisters have been vocal in their desire for anyone with information to come forward to assist law enforcement.
