In the early morning hours of Sunday, February 9, 1992, a promising life was tragically cut short in the parking lot of the Newpoint Shopping Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Jason B. Walker, a 23-year-old black male, was fatally shot while leaving a nightclub. A United States Marine Corps reservist and a student at Norfolk State University, Walker had been inside the Bridge Nightclub watching a performance by rap artist Doo Doo Brown.
