On an April evening in 2012, the life of 20-year-old Ameer Kareem Hamid Baksh was tragically cut short in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Born in Trinidad, Ameer had moved to the United States with his family at a young age and had settled in the coastal city. On the evening of April 5th, he was enjoying a ride on his skateboard in his neighborhood when he was fatally shot.
