In the summer of 2014, a weekend in the Lake Edward section of Virginia Beach was marred by violence that left two young men dead in separate incidents. One of the lives lost was that of 19-year-old Keshmario Leetrell Middleton. In the early morning hours of a Saturday in July, police responded to a call about a shooting in the 700 block of Barrison Way. There, they found Middleton, who had been fatally wounded.
