In the late afternoon of May 3, 2023, a trip to Philadelphia turned tragic for 23-year-old James Cundiff III, a White/Caucasian male from New Bedford, Massachusetts. At approximately 4:55 p.m., while seated in a car in the rear parking lot of a shopping center on the 6200 block of Bustleton Avenue, he was shot multiple times. Cundiff was struck in the chest and shoulder. He was rushed to Nazareth Hospital but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 5:52 p.m.
