On May 3, 2023, 23-year-old James Cundiff III from New Bedford, Massachusetts, was fatally shot in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred around 4:55 p.m. in the rear parking lot of a shopping center located on the 6200 block of Bustleton Avenue. Cundiff sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder while seated in a car. He was transported to Nazareth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:52 p.m.
