A man is shot to death in the parking lot of Picasso's Nightclub
In the early morning hours of Monday, March 1, 1999, the parking lot of Picasso's Nightclub in Virginia Beach became the scene of a fatal shooting. Roy White, a 34-year-old Black male, was killed in the incident, which occurred at approximately 3:09 a.m. in the 500 block of Newtown Road.
White had just left the nightclub and was seen getting into a gold Infinity sedan. As he began to leave the parking lot, gunshots rang out. Following the sound of gunfire, the Infinity was seen driving erratically and striking several parked vehicles before coming to a stop.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered White inside his vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics were called to the scene and transported him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Virginia Beach Police Department continues to investigate the homicide of Roy White. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with his death, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case remains an active investigation.
