On a tragic day in June of 2004, the quiet community of Virginia Beach was shaken by the discovery of a horrific crime. Seven-year-old Jonathan Vetrano, a young boy, was found murdered in his home on Newcombe Road. First responders arrived at the scene on the morning of June 28th to find a house engulfed in flames. Inside, they made the grim discovery of Jonathan and his 29-year-old mother, Lois Schmidt, both of whom had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
