In the winter of 2015, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of Clayton Thomas, a 41-year-old man from Chesapeake, Virginia. On a Sunday evening in late December, Thomas was inside a Wendy's restaurant on Victory Boulevard in Portsmouth when he was fatally shot in the upper body.
