On September 24, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Portsmouth, Virginia, resulting in the death of 38-year-old Marvin Lamar Hatcher. Police officers responded to a shooting on Gilmerton Avenue in the early morning hours. Upon arrival, they found Hatcher suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Hatcher was pronounced dead at the scene.
