On the afternoon of New Year's Eve 2021, a burst of violence in Portsmouth, Virginia, claimed the life of 34-year-old Donta McKinley Copeland and left another man seriously injured. The shooting occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the vicinity of the Hodges Manor apartments on Dunedin Road, shattering the holiday calm.
