On January 11, 2023, 29-year-old Mikeous Markeem Freeman was fatally shot in Portsmouth, Virginia. The incident occurred around 4:01 p.m. in the 3300 block of Turnpike Road, where officers found Freeman deceased and another man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries; the injured individual was transported to a hospital for treatment.
