In the winter of 2016, the life of a young Black/African American teenager, Duane White, was tragically cut short at the age of 15. On the evening of January 4th, in the city of Norfolk, Virginia, a call was made to the police reporting a shooting. Officers arrived at a residence on Bankhead Avenue to find the young male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
