On a tragic Friday evening in Norfolk, Virginia, the life of 20-year-old Dominique J. Brooks was cut short. On October 1, 2021, around 8:45 p.m., dispatchers received a call about a gunshot disturbance in the 1000 block of W. 39th Street. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Brooks suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
