Christopher M. Mercer, aged 41, tragically passed away on May 2, 2021, in Norfolk, Virginia. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 3:45 a.m., when Norfolk police received a call reporting a gunshot victim in the 800 block of Fremont Street. Upon arrival, officers found Mercer suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
