In the early morning hours of May 2, 2016, the body of 23-year-old Devin Sir Wallace Lowery, a Black/African American male, was discovered lying face down on the pavement in the 4500 block of Shallowford Circle in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Virginia Beach Police Department's homicide unit immediately began an investigation into his death.
