On the evening of March 11, 2022, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, a tragic and violent encounter unfolded, leading to the death of 28-year-old Timothy Paul Talley III. A male, Talley was fatally shot in a domestic-related incident. At approximately 9:47 p.m., police responded to a 911 call from a woman reporting that her husband had shot her boyfriend at their residence in the 4800 block of Crystalline Place.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Talley inside the apartment, suffering
from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that the shooter was Tyler Lamar Jenkins, a 26-year-old U.S. Navy sailor. Jenkins had returned to his apartment to find his wife and Talley engaged in a sexual act in their bedroom.
In the ensuing moments, Jenkins opened fire, striking Talley multiple times. After the shooting, Jenkins was taken into custody by the police at his home without incident. When apprehended, he reportedly questioned the officers, asking, 'What am I doing wrong?' and explained that someone had been having sex with his wife in his house. During questioning, Jenkins admitted to shooting Talley three times. The firearm used in the shooting was recovered from the residence.
Following the investigation, Tyler Lamar Jenkins was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was subsequently held without bond. The case was described by police as a domestic-related shooting death.
