On a tragic Saturday evening, November 12, 2016, the life of 19-year-old Juwan Rashik Williams was cut short by gunfire in Newport News, Virginia. The incident unfolded just after 6:30 p.m. at the Tarrytown Apartment Complex located off Jefferson Avenue. Newport News Police responded to calls reporting gunshots and, upon their arrival, discovered a grim scene. Williams was found deceased near an apartment building within the complex.
